"Improving the global competitiveness of Kazakhstani universities: opportunities and prospects"

An online seminar "Improving the global competitiveness of Kazakhstan universities: opportunities and prospects" was held at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. The seminar was conducted by the regional representative of QS Sergey Hristolyubov.

At the meeting, the speaker noted the requirements of QS Asia University Rankings, world rankings of Kazakhstan universities.

It is worth noting that this year, according to the results of the QS Asia University Rankings – 2023, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University entered the TOP 551-600 best universities in Asia. The rating was conducted by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

Asia Rankings 2023 is a rating that has been held on the widest scale at the moment. This year the ranking includes 760 universities from 23 countries. These include educational institutions in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Pakistan, Iran, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, etc.

The ranking analyzes the indicators of universities on the quality of academic education, authority among employers, the ratio of scientific and pedagogical staff and students, the number of publications per employee, international scientific relations. The image of the university on the Internet and employees with a PhD degree, the number of citations in one article, foreign employees and foreign students were also taken into account.

At the online seminar, the Chairman of the Board–Rector of the Korkyt Kyzylorda University Beibitkul Karimova touched upon the topic of the development of higher education.
