World Philosophy Day
The Department of Philosophy and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines of the Institute of Economics and Law of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University has traditionally celebrated the World Philosophy Day since 2011.
In honor of the significant date, a special meeting was held at the Department of Philosophy and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines, where the winners of the competition for writing a philosophical essay " Қорқыт ата университеті – бұл менің таңдауым " were awarded. The event was attended by the teaching staff, students of the educational institution.
The moderator of the evening was the head of the Department of Philosophy and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines, PhD Zharkynbek Abikenov.
At the event, Director of the Institute of Economics and Law Nurlan Kulmyrzayev noted the role of philosophy in society.
During the meeting, the head of the Association "Alumni Association" of the University Gulshat Duzelbaeva noted the importance of the holiday and presented the team with a gift on behalf of the Association.
Senior lecturer of the department Makpal Syzdykova acquainted students with the results of a sociological survey. In addition, Associate Professor of the department Erol Abenov, senior lecturer Bolat Apenov told about the main features of philosophy.
At the end of the event, the winners of the philosophical essay contest were awarded by the Director of the Institute, Nurlan Kulmurzayev.
Such large-scale events aimed at popularizing the subject of philosophy should continue in the future within the university.
It is worth noting that in 2002 the UNESCO World Organization announced the holding of the annual Philosophy Day on the third Thursday of November. This day is celebrated in more than 80 UNESCO member countries around the world.
