Workshop to discuss the 2025 Voluntary National Review for all stakeholders

The Government of Kazakhstan plans to present the Third Voluntary National Review (VNR) in 2025. According to the UN Guidelines for the preparation of the VNR in 2025, it is recommended to pay special attention to the localization of the SDGs and the implementation of the principle of "Leaving no one behind", with the active involvement of all stakeholders. In this regard, special attention is being paid to the issue of localization of the SDGs throughout the country at the regional level.

A "Workshop to discuss the Voluntary National Review - 2025 for all stakeholders" was held on March 19 with the joint organization of the Ministry of National Economy of the RoK, the Institute of Economic Research JSC, the United Nations Development Program, and local executive bodies.  The purpose of the seminar is to involve all categories of the population in the process of preparing the VNR and defining priority goals and objectives based on their opinions.

The seminar was attended by representatives of local executive bodies, non-governmental organizations, the business community, the academic community, independent experts, civil society, as well as other groups of the population.

Representatives of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University also took part in the seminar and had the opportunity to analyze how the priorities of the population are changing.
N.N.Nurmukhametov, Director of the Department of Strategy and IT, delivered a presentation on the contribution of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University to the development of SDG policy in the region: he familiarized with the mechanisms of SDG implementation at the university and shared his experience in promoting SDGs.

At the event, which was held in an interactive format, the participants had very heated group discussions on various thematic areas of SDGs.
The participation of stakeholders helps ensure to make decisions that take into account their needs and interests, and will also assist the Government in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic programs and policies.

This event will be a logical continuation of the ongoing activities in the preparation of previous Voluntary National Reviews.
