An international symposium was held

The international symposium "Water security and irrigated agriculture in Central Asia and Kazakhstan: problems and solutions" was held at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University. The event was organized within the framework of the project "Development of a technology for the safe disposal of wastewater for irrigation of forage crops and tree plantations in conditions of water scarcity in Kyzylorda region". The meeting was attended by specialists, experts and researchers in the field of science and higher education.

The moderator of the symposium, the Vice-Rector of the University for Scientific Work and International Relations, Mainur Buribayeva, noted that this project will contribute to improving the ecology of the region. Serikbai Umirzakov, a professor at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, shared the first results of technology aimed at solving water shortages in the region.

At the meeting, Professor of the Department of Forest Resources, Hunting and Fishing of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Bulkair Mambetov discussed the prospects of growing plants for the cardboard and paper industry by irrigation of hybrid poplars with wastewater. Malokhat Abdukadirova, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Water Resources Management at Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, considered the issues of cleaning Tashkent stormwater from household waste.

Representatives of the Aral Sea Rescue Fund Marat Narbayev and Saule Shalmaganbetova expressed their opinion on the work on conservation of water resources and improvement of the ecological situation in the Aral region. Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Ecology and Sustainability of Bioresources Zhandos Tauanov reported on the possibilities of water purification from pollutants with synthetic zeolites and nanocomposites.

Then the head of the department for the use of drinking and sewage facilities of Kyzylorda Water System State Enterprise Nurgul Shagirbayeva spoke, focusing on the work to reduce water scarcity in the region and the effective use of wastewater.

This symposium was dedicated to discussing issues of water safety, ecology and the introduction of new technologies in agriculture, which was an important step in ensuring the effective use of water resources and environmental safety in the region.
