Commemorated the victims of political repression

Today, May 31 – in honor of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression, the staff of Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the memorial monument to the victims of political repression.

The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of our fighters for the interests of the nation and victims of famine.

The participants of the event paid tribute to the memory of the innocent victims, laid "flowers of respect" on behalf of the public and recited Quran in memory of the victims of political repression. Veterans, historians and public figures spoke at the rally. They told about the contribution of the repressed to the history of Kazakhstan. The older generation also told the Kyzylorda youth about the need to maintain unity, solidarity, and learn from the experience of the past.

On this sad day, each of us is obliged to honor the memory of all the innocent victims of one of the most brutal tragedies of the last century.
