Archaeological research will continue in the city of Zhankent

In accordance with the agreement between Kyzylorda Regional Institution for Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Department of Culture and Sports of Kyzylorda region and Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, a new excavation season for archaeological research of the medieval town of Zhankent has begun this year.

The excavation was attended by employees of the excavation center, students of AE-22-1, AE-21-1 study groups of the Educational Programs "Archeology and Ethnology" and the director of the branch of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. H. Margulan of Astana, PhD Tazhekeyev Azilkhan Auezkhanuly, Chief Inspector of the Department for Protection of objects of the state historical and cultural heritage "Bozok" of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Darmen Rustem Turarbekuly, as well as employees of Kyzylorda Regional State Institution for Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments and Kyzylorda Regional Museum of Local History.
