"Center for support of technologies and innovations" opened

Within the framework of the science month "Science will save the world-2024"  at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, with the consent of the National Institute of intellectual property of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the "Center for support of technologies and innovations" was opened.

This center is an international project initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organization to create a Network "Center for technology and innovation support" in Kazakhstan.

This center will provide patent and information support and resources for the innovative development of our region, commercialization of the results of intellectual activity, assist university scientists in the development of business concepts, business plans, other documents for the commercialization of scientific and technical developments, application for intellectual property patents, utility models, copyright certificates. 

The event was followed by a Republican Conference. The meeting discussed the importance of intellectual property protection documents, such as patents, copyright certificates, utility models, relevant issues related to the registration, ordering, organization, maintenance of relevant documents.

Deputy Director of the National Institute of intellectual property "Qazpatent" Aydin Artykova, head of the Department "Inventions, utility models and breeding achievements " Altynai Batyrbekova joined the meeting online. Head of the Coordination Department of the Center for patent research and support of technologies and innovations Nazifa Baktybayeva, Chief expert of the Department of expertise of trademarks, geographical indications, names of places of origin of goods Arailym Ilyasova made a report.

"Over the past five years, scientists of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University have received 54 patents, 20 copyright certificates and 2 International Certificates, and I am sure that the opening of the Center for support of technologies and innovations will increase the number of these indicators and become a "Golden Bridge "for our contacts with inventors-innovators, the business community, young Scientists, young inventors as an element of the innovation infrastructure."- said  Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Chairman of the board – Rector Beibitkul Karimova

In addition, the head of the Coordination Department of the National Institute of intellectual property "Qazpatent", "Center for patent research and support of technologies and innovations "Nazifa Baktybayeva held a training seminar on the topic "Registration of an application for a patent for a utility model and invention" and  "Search in a patent database: patentscope, espacenet". The seminar-training was attended by local entrepreneurs, university scientists, and students.
