It is important to save the small Aral from drought

Osama Ali Maher, doctor of philosophy, international expert on Water Resources and ecology at Lund University in Sweden, expressed concern about the environmental problems of the Aral Sea region and public health.

This was stated by the expert at a meeting with the Chairman of the board-Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University Beibitkul Karimova.
"The irrigation of the small Aral is a very important issue. Because in this region it is very hot, as a result of which the soil is salted, and salt from the bottom of the sea is released into the air. Planting a plant in this dry place will not yield results if there is no possibility of watering.
Drought will increase if we use underground water for fields. Due to the attraction of the Aral Sea, the terrain has undergone changes. This is leading to a global environmental catastrophe.

We collected and got acquainted with all the studies related to the ecology of the Aral. It is necessary to conduct an international survey of the region. The ecological problem of the Aral is common to all of us. 6 countries with the Syrdarya River should not be indifferent to the issue of filling the small Aral Sea, but to consider a joint solution, Osama Ali said."
The guest of the university got acquainted with the work of the recently opened International Center for the study of ecosystems of the Aral Sea region and gave a positive assessment. 
In turn, Beibitkul Sarsemkhanovna thanked the expert for studying the current topic.
