International Center for the study of ecosystems of the Aral Sea region

The opening ceremony of the International Center for the study of ecosystems of the Aral Sea region was held at korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

The opening ceremony of the center was attended by Professor of the Department of Water Resources Protection Pyotr Klimashik, President of the Limnological Society of Poland, Adam Mickiewicz University, Professor of the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Southwestern University in Chengdu (China) Zhao Jiaoyan, Professor of this university, doctor of geological and mineralogical Sciences Sergey Krivonogov.

The opening of the Center for the study of ecosystems of the Aral Sea region will contribute to ensuring a stable ecological situation, revealing the processes of natural restoration of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

It aims to develop environmental education of society, preserve biological diversity, improve the health of the population of the Aral Sea region, as well as prepare educational programs and qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel in geographical and environmental directions.

Within the framework of the center, ways to restore the disturbed ecosystems of the small island and the Aral region of Kazakhstan as a whole will be studied, including natural restoration of biogeocenoses.

In addition, the structure, dynamics and ecology of plant and animal communities, their classification; promotion of botanical, zoological and environmental knowledge will be carried out; recommendations for the preservation of unique natural objects will be developed.

It is planned to increase cooperation with the World Health Organization, scientists in the field of ecology from near and far abroad.
