Today is the birthday of Mukagali Makatayev

93 years have passed since the birth of the poet Mukagali Suleimenovich Makatayev, who brought a special emphasis to Kazakh poetry. On the eve of the significant day, students of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University organized a creative evening. He read poetry, sang songs written in his poems. The event, which was held in the palace of students, was attended by the director of the youth theater, aitysker-poet N. Mansurov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Halyk"  N.Kobegenuly, employees of the Kyzylorda City branch of the "Amanat" party and teachers.

Mukagali, one of the most advanced poets of the twentieth century, left his native people an indelible legacy, an inexhaustible treasure. He is one of the few people who not only connected the National School and the great tradition of poetry, but also developed it in every possible way, raised the Kazakh word to new laws, brought it to new spaces. The source of the poet's poetry, the basis of inspiration is his native country, the land of the East, the fate of the motherland and the dreams of his contemporaries. All this was brought by immortal works with the unique skill inherent in the young talent. At the end of the evening, organized by university students, the guests showed their welcome.
