Guest lecture on the topic "Modern directions of social work"

On February 8, 2024, in the Mazhilis Hall of the main academic building of the university, associated professor of Narxoz University, international trainer Abenova Gulzada Abdrakhmankyzy gave a guest lecture on the topic “Modern directions of social work” for students and teachers.

Employers were also invited to the lecture, in particular, Aziz Zhazykbayuly, Deputy Director for Social Affairs of the state enterprise “Center for Special Social Services No. 1”, and Bakyt Tursynbek, a social worker of this enterprise.

The lecture discussed issues of defining the specialty of social work at the international level, types of professional competencies, a modern portrait of a social worker, forecast demand for social workers in Kazakhstan, the professional standard of a social worker in social security. The lecturer comprehensively covered the issues of stigma in social work and ways to get rid of social discrimination. During the lecture, students asked questions and shared their opinions. The university teaching staff and students express their deep gratitude to Abenova Gulzada Abdrakhmankyzy for the experience provided and hopes for further cooperation in the training of social work personnel.
