Young scientists were awarded a university grant

The winners of the rector's grant competition for the research work of young scientists have been determined at the Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University. 18 university projects were submitted to the competition, of which 8 projects of young scientists were recognized as the best.

According to the terms of the competition, research works were submitted by scientists under the age of 40 and doctoral students of the 1, 2 course.

Researcher at the Laboratory of engineering profile "Physico-chemical methods of analysis" Indira Espanova presented a project for the production of products by chemical modification of cellulose from rice straw.

- The scientific staff of the laboratory previously studied the optimal conditions for obtaining cellulose from rice straw. Now we have invented the production of carboxymethylcellulose from cellulose obtained from agricultural waste. This product is mainly used in many fields, such as the production of home wallpaper glue, oil refining, underground ores, transportation of medicines in medicine, etc.

It is also possible to obtain a hydrogel from carboxymethylcellulose. This product is widely used in medicine (for the preparation of gel, ointment). But we mainly use it in the agricultural sector, adding it to the soil. The hydrogel absorbs moisture from the air and precipitation and distributes it throughout the plant. This is very important for our region, it allows you to grow a plant without watering. Hydrogel is not harmful to plants or the environment,"  the young scientist noted

Gulnur Zhakypova, senior lecturer at the Department of Architecture and Construction Production, suggested ways to develop technology for producing improved fine-grained road concrete using Kazakhstan low-quality natural raw materials.

In accordance with the provisions of the annual grant of the university in support of young scientists, the authors of 8 projects recognized as the best were awarded a grant certificate for 1250000 tenge. Among them are 5 studies of the natural-technical direction, 3 studies of the socio-humanitarian direction.

Scientists whose projects are recognized as the best, along with conducting research, should publish articles in international scientific publications.

It should be noted that in 2021-4, in 2022 6 project authors received university grants. The competition for young scientists has traditionally been going on for 3 years.
